Sachin Tendulkar became the first brand ambassador of
UNICEF for South Asia yesterday. Sachin
Tendulkar just retired from International Cricket and is starting a new innings
in life. Sachin Tendulkar quoted that “This is a second innings of my life. I
am thankful to the UNICEF for giving this opportunity to me. I am looking
forward to work with UNICEF for the best of people.”
Sachin Tendulkar will work along with UNICEF to improve the
hygiene and sanitation in the South Asia. India is among the region. He also said
that the present condition of many people around the world is poor. Most people
do not have proper sanitation facilities. According to calculations around 36
per cent of total population does not have access to clean toilets. Around 1600
children die every year due to diseases like diarrhoeal infected diseases. Sachin
Tendulkar will be promoting the need for proper sanitation and hygiene.
The batting legend also participated in the hand wash
campaign with kids. He said he is happy to be with kids and likes to help them.
