The technological
development is nicely portrayed in the game. Electric trains replace coal and
diesel powered trains as the game progresses. Electric trains are very fast and
cheap. Well of course some trains are very costly to run. The fun of the game
is finding the perfect train for the routes. Laying out the tracks and
connecting cities through railroads are deeply satisfying. Once the trains on
that route makes profits in millions, it is much more rewarding. Speaking of
the game as a whole, the game lives up to its name “Train Fever”.
Although
building tracks is fun, it can be annoying sometimes. The most tiresome
procedure is replacing the old trains and road vehicles with new ones. Even though
trains have much more lifespan than the road vehicles like trucks and buses, it
is a difficult procedure to find the train and send it to depot for selling or
replacing. As the game progresses the number of train routes and road routes
increases and it can get annoying to find the lines from a vast number of
lines. The developers of the game Train Fever has done a nice job to color code
each line. So when you create a new line it might be in some random color which
can help you identify that respective route very easily.
We always
like simulation games because they are deeply rewarding for the work we do in
building up the cities or traffic and Train Fever absolutely stands up to
fulfil you in that way. Watching the economic panel of train and road routes
and those green colored profit amount is very fun.
