Kiss Day on November 2nd : Protest against Moral Policing in Kerala

        A group of youngsters have joined their hands in protest against the increasing activities of moral policing in Kerala, India.  The protest is going under the name ‘Kiss Day’. Kiss Day will be conducted on November 2nd 2015 at Marine drive, Kochi. Youngsters are fighting for their rights to love for the first time in Kerala by coming up with such a protest. The Kiss day’s main objective to protest against the attack at a Coffee shop in Kozhikode district, Kerala by BJP activists.



Among the  organizers was S Rahul who said that this will be a strong message against moral policing in Kerala. Lovers will kiss each other on this Kiss day. The attack on Coffee shop is just one of the incidents by moral policing. This tendency of criminalizing love is growing every where in Kerala. Youngsters are fighting for their rights to love. Rahul and other organizers have completed mass campaign for this maiden effort in Social media.

There is also a facebook page known as Kiss Of Love. The page has more than ten thousand likes in a short time. The organizers have invited couples to participate in the event and kiss each other on the day. The organizers have also requested for live media coverage as this will be a strong message to the moral policing.


Even though police said that they cannot prevent people from gathering in the city, they said they will arrest those who are responsible for causing law and order problems on the day.
