Kumar Ram Narain Karthikeyan was born on 14th of January
1977. His father was also a racing champion for India. His father, Shri G.R
Karthikeyan was a former Indian National Rally Champion. He won the south India
Rally 7 times. He recognized his son’s love for the racing sport very soon. He enrolled
him to the Elf- Winfield School in France for professional training. It was the
starting time for his glorious career.
He soon became known
as ‘The Fastest Indian’ in the world. World’s premier automotive racing
magaxine, Autosport called him that way. He won the feature race in A1 Grand
Prix. India’s Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh congratulated him for that
achievement. He said that Narain Karthikeyan is a youth icon for India.
He featured among the most Admired people in India. He is
listed in the 50 powerful Indians by Business Week magazine following the day
of 60th year of Independence for India.
